TASC Partner Uses Comics as Literacy Tool

The New York Times reports on using comics as a literacy teaching tool in education programs, focusing on TASC partner, the Comic Book Project. The Teachers College program was developed with support from TASC and is now offered at several TASC-supported after-school programs throughout New York City.

Staten Island Advance: Letter to the Editor

New Resource for Libraries

In collaboration with the Queens Library Community Library staff and BOOST Activity Assistants, and generous support from The Wallace Foundation, TASC created The BOOST Quick Guide to share the promising after-school activities that community libraries undertook as demonstration projects.

Council Member James Vacca and TASC president Lucy N. Friedman jointly announced that 13 new after-school programs are now operating in New York public schools with support from the City Council and The After-School Corporation (TASC), which funds and monitors daily programs in schools and assures they meet high standards of quality.
