Nov 14, 2008 - Nov 15, 2008 (8:00AM - 4:30PM)

This year's theme is "Outdoors in the Garden State." It celebrates connections between children and nature, and introduces ways to strengthen those ties in urban, suburban and rural areas. As children have gotten busier and schools have increased their focus on high stakes testing, children have fewer opportunities to experience the natural world. Reconnecting children with nature can lead to better health, improved concentration and a stronger understanding of our role as stewards of the planet. The conference also features workshops on working with new partners throughout the state from local media to Governor Corzine's crime prevention initiative.
