In a paper published by The Wallace Foundation, TASC president Lucy N. Friedman writes that investments in four areas in particular could strengthen the capacity of community organizations that provide programs for kids beyond traditional school hours.
These areas are training for staffers and executives; educating principals and other education leaders about the role and benefits of after-school programs; improving the content of programming; and strengthening the financial management and governance of the organizations that operate programs.
