In 2000, TASC was a founding partner in the creation of the Afterschool Alliance, a national nonprofit organization which advocates to ensure that all kids have access to safe, high quality after-school programs.

In 2000, TASC helped found the Coalition for After-School Funding, a statewide coalition of families and organizations representing law enforcement officials, educators and after-school advisors.

In 2003, TASC was a founding partner in the creation of the New York State Afterschool Network (NYSAN), a partnership of statewide, regional and local groups working to build the capacity of communities to increase the quality and availability of programs during non-school hours.

In 2005, TASC was a founding partner in the creation of the national, nonprofit Coalition for Science After School, dedicated to strengthening and expanding opportunities for young people to learn and do science after school.

In 2006, TASC launched The Center for After-School Excellence, an initiative to improve the quality of after-school programs by building a system of university-based training for after-school staff, supported by research and policy analysis.

In 2006, TASC became the founding administrative partner in the Collaborative for Building After-School Systems, an organization of six citywide after-school intermediary organizations dedicated to making after-school a part of the system of essential services that support children and youth. CBASS is working to change policy to integrate after-school into broader education reform efforts and increase resources devoted to after-school programs. CBASS is working to support the establishment of comprehensive citywide after-school systems in cities and towns across the nation.

Lights On Afterschool 2008
